Our vision is to develop pupils’ enjoyment and interest in science and build on their enthusiasm, encouraging children to treat the living and non-living environment with respect and sensitivity.
Science in our school is about using and developing children’s ideas and ways of working to enable them to make sense of the world in which they live through practical investigations and hands-on experiences, as well as using and applying process skills.
We want the children to develop a sense of excitement and curiosity about natural phenomena, using their growing knowledge to explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave, analyse causes and test theories, all linked to an appreciation of the specific applications of science in society.
