Behaviour
At Whitchurch behaviour is exemplary. Children play and work well with each other and enjoy school life. Mutual respect is evident between staff and children and the whole school has a lovely family atmosphere. At our school we have 3 simple rules that we follow based on the UN Rights of the Child:
-
We have the right to learn
-
We have the right to have friends
-
We have the right to be happy and safe
These are supported by our Behaviour and Anti bullying policies, both available on request from the school office or by clicking the links below. There have been no exclusions in the last 5 years and no racist or homophobic incidents.
Where children don’t get along we have simple systems in place. There is a 'Trust Box' in the library for children to use. Children talk to staff about any problems they are having and we talk to parents where children have fallen out or bullying has occurred. If we see any problems or find out about any, we intervene. We use our rules and Learning Council agreed sanctions in talking to children about making good choices, putting bad choices right and then moving on.

Freedom of Information
All public authorities, including schools, are required under the Freedom of Information Act to adopt a publication scheme that has been approved by the Information Commissioner. There is currently one approved model publication scheme, which has been produced by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Schools must adopt the ICO's model scheme and make it publicly available.
